Mary Liesenberg

Thank you for visiting my profile ! I’d like to tell you a bit about my background and my practice. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Northern Arizona University, and a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Southern California. I commissioned into the Navy in 2012, after completing an internship with the Department of Defense onboard Naval Medical Center San Diego. I completed my post-graduate residency in 2014 at Naval Medical Center San Diego, working in medical social work and in adult outpatient mental health at Substance Abuse Rehabilitation Program Point Loma, California. I also worked at Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort in adult outpatient mental health in Aviation Medicine. I am a Board Certified Diplomate in Clinical Social Work specialized in treating anxiety disorders and post-traumatic stress disorder with a humanist existential background and cognitive behavioral therapy modalities. I continue to serve in the Navy Reserve as a Lieutenant in the Medical Services Corps. I enjoy working with diverse populations and a wide range of mood or other psychological disorders, and enjoy working on general improved wellness and better managing stress. I also have unique experience in working in Equal Opportunity and as a Transition Assistance Officer for service members undergoing gender confirmation surgeries.
