About Melanie Assid's service

My name is Melanie Assid. I graduated with a BA in Psychology from Denison University and also earned a MSSA from Case Western Reserve University. I have since obtained my clinical social work license in both Ohio and Tennessee. In the last 17 years I have worked with clients of various ages facing a variety of challenges. These challenges include, but are not limited to, mood and anxiety disorders, ADHD, and adjustment disorders. As a social worker affiliated with a hospital, I have worked a lot with those who have various medical conditions and disabilites. I have a special interest in working with those with visual impairment as well as with older adults and those who may be caring for them. When working with clients, I tend to utilize cognitive behavioral, solution-focused, client-centered, and/or minfulness therapy approaches. I am also trained in motivational interviewing.
