Melissa Childers-White

Melissa Childers-White is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas with a passion for helping individuals achieve life changes. With a background in Philosophy, Psychology, and Spanish from Vanderbilt University, Melissa has a deep understanding of different cultures and ways of life. She further expanded her knowledge through studying abroad in Spain and Denmark, as well as traveling to over 30 countries. Melissa obtained her Masters in Counseling Psychology from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, and completed a counseling internship in medical, sex, and cancer counseling. Her goal as a counselor is to provide support and empathy without judgment, guiding clients towards a place of improved well-being and helping them overcome challenges. Melissa takes a holistic approach to therapy, incorporating elements from various approaches to tailor counseling to each client’s unique needs. She utilizes Socratic questioning to help clients clarify their thoughts and explore alternative viewpoints. While Melissa is flexible in her communication methods, she believes that live sessions on BetterHelp are more effective for progress. She is available to check messages on weekdays between 10 am and 6 pm. Melissa’s diverse career path, including experience as a stay-at-home mom, community volunteering, and collaboration with city government, has equipped her with problem-solving and communication skills that benefit her counseling practice
