Melissa La Manna

I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of North Florida and afterward earned my Professional’s Educator Certificate in Exceptional Special Education and in grades K thru 6. I taught early childhood development and general elementary education for over 12 years for Duval County Public Schools, as well as became a published children’s author. I later earned my Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University and have been working as mental health counselor for the University of North Florida for the past four years. I am currently a practicing Licensed Mental Health Counselor in State of Florida and the Eating Disorder Treatment Team Coordinator for the UNF Counseling Center in Jacksonville. My goal is to accompany clients on their path to discovering greater self-awareness and the ability to live more congruently. I believe that with a strong therapeutic relationship and an integrated approach I can help you develop healthier ways of coping, deeper relations with others and greater emotional resilience. I specialize in working with adults who struggle with anxiety, depression, eating disorders, body image concerns, relationship difficulties, adjustment issues and self-esteem concerns.
