Michele Buckner

Michele Buckner is a Licensed Professional Counselor with nearly 20 years of experience in the mental health field. She has worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings, providing counseling services to individuals. Michele believes that counseling should be a collaborative process, where both the client and counselor are a good fit. Creating a safe and non-judgmental space is her priority, allowing clients to be their authentic selves and feel heard and accepted. Michele’s worldview is centered around the idea that everyone is doing their best with the knowledge and skills they have acquired throughout life, and that growth is always possible. She recognizes that we all face challenges and limitations, but through counseling, individuals can gain new insights and skills, leading to steady progress and finding balance. Michele emphasizes the importance of learning new coping strategies that may yield different results, as old strategies may no longer be effective. By expanding our psychological toolbox, we increase our ability to respond to stressors in new and healthier ways. Counseling is an opportunity to delve deeper into ourselves, understanding our triggers and automatic thought processes. With this newfound knowledge, we can then practice and implement new ways of managing stressors. Michele finds this work both rewarding and challenging, and she feels privileged to be a part of
