Monica De La Torre

I am a licensed professional counselor in the State of Texas with 14 years of experience providing online and in person mental health and behavioral counseling for children, adolescents, and adults. I counsel my clients in English and Spanish as part of an integrated multidisciplinary team in a healthcare clinic. I also counseled college students in a yearlong internship at the University Counseling Center on one of the University of Texas campuses. My career before becoming a mental health provider included working as an industrial engineer and in several business and marketing positions. I believe that my experience working in different career fields has enhanced my skills as a therapist as I am empathetic, analytical, and logical when working with my clients. I work hard to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. My goal is to work with my clients to improve their coping skills and to effectively manage issues such as Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, and ADHD. I also aim to help parents and caregivers build and improve parenting skills. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage, but I think it is well worth it.
