Welcome to my profile. I hope that through reading about me you might have an understanding of who I am and whether you and I will have a good fit for therapy. I have been in the field for the past 7 years and am licensed in the state of Illinois. I attended Illinois State University for my education and have been working in the field since then. One of the most important things I learned through my experiences is that the therapeutic relationship is one of the most healing parts in therapy. That fit between client and therapist is what sets and holds the ground for the important work. I specialize in trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, and medical concerns such as chronic pain, living with cancer, disability, and rare medical conditions. I also work with stress, communication skills, adjustment, and young adult concerns and transitions. I have experience working with individuals between the ages of 12 and 75 with all types of identities. My approach is to sit with you in sessions and work through your thoughts and feelings. Problem solving is an important part of therapy, but also knowing where thoughts and feelings came from is also incredibly important for understanding and acceptance. My goal as your therapist is to follow your lead and provide someone who will walk right along side with you as you explore what is on your mind and heart. I also believe that a therapist should also be a human. I am an avid reader of all things fantasy, young adult, mystery, and psychological thrillers. I love to travel and explore new hobbies. I am a very proud dungeons and dragons player. Most importantly, I love to learn through everything I do so I look forward to learning from you.
