Peter Mburu

Peter Mburu is a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with extensive experience working with adults who are facing mental illness. Having previously practiced as an LPC in Michigan, Peter brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his current role in Texas. For the past three years, he has been dedicated to supporting young adults who are experiencing psychosis for the first time in their lives, focusing on early onset cases. Additionally, Peter is also licensed as an LCDC-I in Texas, allowing him to work effectively with individuals struggling with chemical dependence. His counseling background includes working with diverse populations such as international students, refugees, and those grappling with severe medical conditions. With a seminary training in Christian counseling, Peter is well-equipped to address the unique needs of individuals seeking faith-based guidance. His therapeutic approach is grounded in evidence-based techniques such as CBT, DBT, and Motivational interviewing. Peter believes that seeking help is the first step towards mental health wellness and is eager to assist clients in developing coping skills to help them reach their full potential.
