Priscilla Montelongo

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with experience in working with a variety of individuals in a variety of settings. I have worked as a therapist in a Behavioral Health Hospital, County Jail, and Community Mental Health Center. Populations have included a diverse group of people with diverse issues and concerns not limited to relationship issues, grief, trauma, life stressors, unpredictable challenges, and crisis management. I try to be considerate and aware of all cultures, and I am open to learning as much as possible to better help my clients. Areas of expertise would include working with individuals with depression, anxiety, and history of trauma. I have also worked with individuals diagnosed with PTSD, Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, and Major Depressive Disorder. I approach clients with practices of Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy as applicable. My counseling style would include a team approach, involving you and me. If you are interested in having any family members or other collateral involved, it’s completely up to you. We would develop a treatment plan tailored to you, addressing your goals. Each session is completely about you and for you. I will help you by facilitating awareness, communicating effectively, and clarifying whenever needed. There will be as much objectivity as possible, no judgement. Seeking counseling can be challenging due to issues such as stigma, and it takes a courageous individual to ask for help.
