“You cant go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending.” – CS Lewis My name is Rachel Lefkowitz and I am a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Michigan (LMSW). I have been practicing for nearly 10 years and have experience in an array of clinical settings, including: behavioral/mental health, care management, addiction, crisis management, child and family counseling, and medical care management. In my approach to counseling, the client is the expert; he or she knows themselves better than anyone else. Often times, cognitive distortions may result in flawed beliefs about ourselves and others, which in turn may spiral into self-destructive behaviors and thoughts . Through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I am able to help clients discover patterns of thinking and behavior that are rooted in unhealthy views of self, others, and the world around them. Together, we begin to challenge those beliefs, and reframe our thinking in order to live a healthier, more meaningful, and more intentional life. As an empathic, compassionate, and committed professional, I provide a non-judgmental environment where you can be your authentic self. It is my goal to help you find strategies to cope with life challenges as they arise so that you can live a happier, more fulfilling life.
