Raymond Butts

Raymond Butts is a licensed professional counselor (LPC) and a National Certified Counselor (NCC) with over 30 years of experience in counseling and education. He began his career as an elementary special education teacher in the early 80’s and later obtained his M.Ed in Counselor Education from the University of Arkansas in 1989. Raymond’s journey took him to Alaska, where he worked for the Bering Strait School District in Unalakleet. Over the course of 11 years, he served as a teacher, itinerant school counselor, and village school principal. Raymond also worked in two other school districts before retiring from Alaska in 2004. After returning to Arkansas, he worked as a kindergarten counselor in a center with 180 kids and 18 teachers until his full retirement in 2007. In 2009, Raymond transitioned to becoming a military and family life counselor, a role he has been fulfilling for the past 10 years. His treatment approach is rooted in his training and personality, focusing on Client-Centered Therapy (CCT) and prioritizing client assistance over directing them. Currently, Raymond specializes in crisis and PTSD counseling for the military and their families.
