Rebecca Hunt

Welcome! My name is Rebecca Hunt (though I go by Becky) and I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) in the state of Ohio. My 14+ years of previous social work and counseling experience include early intervention casework, play therapy with children and families, group work for teenagers, child welfare counseling and case management for children and adults, parenting support, ADHD support for families and children, and case management for homeless individuals with acute medical illness. I received a specialization in Military Social Work during my master’s program at USC and have a passion for working with those, both children and adults, who have experienced trauma. I believe that wellness includes many factors of a person’s life–mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual health. I believe that many people have the ability to manage any situation or challenge with a combination of existing strengths and learning of new skills. In counseling, I use a combination of CBT, solution focused, and problem-solving therapy, along with Motivational Interviewing, trauma therapies, and (yes even) Play Therapy when appropriate. I believe individualized plans, when developed in your words, are a great road map for reaching your desired destination.
