Robbyn Takeuchi

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Hawaii with 15 years of experience providing counseling to clients from diverse backgrounds ranging in age from late teens through older adults. I have worked with clients on a variety of concerns including anxiety, depression, adjustment to illness, self-esteem and motivation issues. I have also worked with many people who are struggling with alcohol and substance abuse issues, as well as those in domestic violence relationships My counseling approach is warm and respectful, and I believe that the power and capacity for change and self-improvement lies within each individual. My role as a counselor is to help people discover these strengths, build resilience in times of difficulty, and offer support and guidance to adopt more effective tools and improved strategies to overcome these challenges. My approach incorporates cognitive-behavioral and motivational interviewing strategies as well as a systems approach, but I will tailor my approach to meet your style and unique needs. Acknowledging you need help is hard; reaching out for help is even harder. You have the capacity to change you life and you don’t have to do it alone.
