Life is not a series of triumphs without a series of obstacles or difficult times–Catherine Pulsifer. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if life fell in line and provided us with everything that we desire; with every plan that we made for ourselves coming to fruition? Wouldn’t it also be wonderful if we didn’t have to endure the trials, setbacks, loss and disappointments that experiencing life brings, and we could snap our fingers and in a matter of seconds change the situations that we sometimes find ourselves in? Unfortunately, we can’t. There can be no joy without pain but that doesn’t mean we have to remain stuck in a painful, joyless life, burdened with the circumstances surrounding us. Change can happen, but it takes work, and it doesn’t happen overnight! I am a licensed professional counselor in the state of Georgia. I graduated from South University and have a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and have over three years of experience working with individuals with a wide variety of concerns such as anxiety, depression, substance abuse, relationship issues, parenting problems, and emotional abuse. As a therapist I provide an authentic and genuine experience because I am able to empathize with others and appreciate their life’s journey. Because of this appreciation, I provide a nonjudgmental, and objective viewpoint that assists you with achieving your goals and I provide you with the necessary tools and skills to navigate the obstacles that pop up during your journey. I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy, and solution focused therapy to meet you where you are so that you can manifest the vision that you have for your life. It takes courage to take that first step towards change and I believe that you can do it! I look forward to working with you, and remember….progress, not perfection!
