Hi! My name is Russell or Rusty, whichever you prefer. My approach is casual, but also rooted in science. Like an astronaut might say they “always knew they wanted to be an astronaut”, I’ve always known I wanted to be a therapist. I’ve studied the more interesting psychological treatment approaches, like humanistic theory, motivational and mindfulness based approaches, but graduated from a rigorous Psychology program rooted in the science of Cognitive Behavioral Theory. My Master’s degree is a Master’s of Science in Social Work. I believe that there’s a framework that fits everyone and every problem, but that good outcomes are rooted in a good therapeutic rapport as well as an approach that actually works.
