Life gets hard. Sometimes we have to fight. Sometimes we need help making things make sense. Sometimes we need a little encouragement and motivation. Sometimes we just need to talk and someone to listen. Sometimes we just need to understand that we are not alone in whatever it is we are going through, and whatever challenges we are facing. If you are looking for help finding that light at the end of the tunnel or help navigating this thing called life, I’m here for you. Hello and welcome. My name is Sametris. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in FL I have been providing mental health services in the community and prison/jail setting for about 9 years. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns from depression, anxiety, anger issues, family and relationship issues, life changes, and grief, as well as include schizophrenia and borderline personality disorder. I have helped people with addiction issues and histories of trauma and abuse. I am a listener. Many times we want to be heard. When we can verbally express our thoughts and feelings we are one step closer to identifying our needs. I believe in growth, self-betterment, and change. I care about the well-being of people. My approach includes person-centered and cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, existential therapy and solution-focused therapy. I like to meet people where they are and tailor treatment to meet specific needs. Self-care is important. If we don’t care for ourselves, how can we effectively care for the people around us? I want everyone to be able to experience the joy that life brings. We all deserve a piece of happiness. Even at our lowest points, and darkest times, there is something to look forward to.
