Sawndra Williams

My name is Sawndra “Sandy” Williams and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the State of California. I have a Master of Social Work degree and a Bachelor of Science in Social Work degree from California State University, Fresno. I have primarily worked in a medical setting with chronic kidney disease patients coping with adjustment to life on dialysis. I have also worked with clients and their families in a hospice setting helping them accept and cope with end of life. During my time as an LCSW, I have worked with my clients on a variety of issues such as depression, anxiety, end of life issues, adjustment to illness, relationship problems, and more. I utilize an empowerment model and client centered therapy along with CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) and solution focused therapy to help my clients process their thoughts, feelings and emotions while learning new skills to help them cope with their life situations. I also implement faith based counseling as appropriate with my clients who rely on faith and religion as a means to cope with the challenges of life. I have been described as a skilled active listener who conveys genuine empathy and support to my clients. My goal is to be a safe place for my clients to discuss their issues and concerns while offering them the opportunity to empower themselves to improve their quality of life.
