I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia who has been in the mental health field for over 8 years. I graduated from The University of Georgia (Go DAWGS!) where I double majored in Human Development and Family Science and Psychology. I continued my training at UGA and obtained my Master’s of Education in Counseling Psychology. I have experience in working with adolescents and adults who struggle with anxiety, low self-esteem, depression, addiction, and family issues. I do not see myself as an “advice giver” like we often see in the movies. I do not have all the answers to everyone’s problems, but I do believe that we all have the answers to our problems inside of ourselves somewhere. I believe therapy is similar to holding a mirror up to yourself – its an opportunity to see who you really are. I see myself as a conduit for helping people learn more about themselves and discovering their next steps to move forward in life. I see my main responsibilities as a counselor as being open, honest, ethical, and asking meaningful questions. I believe that clients must also be open, honest, and willing to put in some work and self-reflection in order to get results from counseling. I use a person-centered style and throw in some Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well.
