Shirin Tavakol

Shirin Tavakol is a licensed professional counselor in the state of Texas with 7 years of experience in the mental health field. She has worked with a wide range of clinical issues including anxiety, depression, family/relationship conflicts, life transitions, immigrant/acculturation issues, and complex trauma/abuse. Shirin’s personal experience with mental health difficulties after migrating to the USA drives her commitment to helping others. She understands the challenges, frustration, and loneliness that come with living with mental health issues and believes that finding the right help and support can make life easier. Shirin takes a person-centered, holistic, and integrative approach to treatment, meeting her clients where they are and adjusting the approach to their specific needs. She is sensitive to individual backgrounds and cultures and incorporates evidence-based techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, eye movement desensitization reprocessing, solution-focused counseling, and EFT. Shirin strongly believes that by taking the first step to invest in their wellness and being patient and consistent in the process, clients can overcome their current problems.
