Shirley Currier

Shirley Currier is a highly experienced and compassionate therapist who has dedicated her career to helping individuals overcome addiction and achieve mental and emotional well-being. With over three decades in the field, Shirley’s own personal journey of recovery from addiction inspired her to become a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor. Working alongside a psychiatrist, she provided counseling services to patients struggling with addiction. It was during this time that Shirley realized that addiction was often just a symptom of underlying mental and psychological issues. This realization led her to pursue a Masters in Clinical Psychology in 2000, further enhancing her ability to address the complex needs of her clients. Throughout her career, Shirley has worked in various settings, including physician’s offices, non-profit agencies, day treatment programs, and with the courts in Harris County in diversion programs for offenders. She is well-versed in a range of therapeutic approaches, including cognitive-behavioral, psycho-dynamic, solution-focused, and trauma recovery. Shirley firmly believes in empowering her clients, valuing their expertise in their own struggles, and working collaboratively to find a personalized path to recovery.
