Hi! Welcome to the BetterHelp community! I understand that reaching out can be a difficult step to take but I want you to know you’re not alone and I hope that I can help you on your journey. My name is Stephanie and I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker in the state of Ohio. I have been working in the mental health field for 4 at a non-profit agency in my area. I have worked with individuals who have experienced a number of issues including trauma, depression, substance use, interpersonal conflict, communication challenges, self-esteem, and much more. I decided to go into this field because I had a great understanding of how it can be difficult to handle the stressful events within our life on our own. This field has always been a passion of mine and I hope to help those seeking assistance to become the best self they want to be! My counseling style is relaxed, empathetic, and strengths based. I enjoy utilizing a number of therapy approaches and realize that there isn’t a “one size fits all.” Because of this, I find that within the therapeutic relationship we must be a team and communicate with each other what’s working and what is not. My purpose is to allow connection, reflection, and growth through the therapeutic relationship so that healing can be done through the use of trust and collaboration. I hope to be a part of your journey and next steps as you work towards the best life you want! -Stephanie Thomas, MSW, LISW
