Hello, and thank you for considering me as your therapist. I’ve spent over half of my life practicing psychology and helping people overcome adversity. The most common presenting problems I encounter on Betterhelp include, extended grief, depression, stage of life change, anxiety, panic, OCD, and relationship problems. My clients tell me I’m a great listener, funny, and have a knack for conceptualizing their situations in a manner that offers them hope and guidance. Most clients finish counseling and report seeing themselves as, “More grown-up, less fragile, and more strategic in all matters of life.” I employ evidenced-based therapies such as CBT, RET, and client- centered/interpersonal approaches to help clients accept themselves and take control of their behaviors and emotions. I also will recommend clients seek medical treatment when appropriate. My ideal clients carve out private time to respect the counseling session. They keep scheduled appointments barring unforeseen obstacles. When a client no shows, I do not get paid. Also, I get paid by the amount of time we spend in our sessions. I schedule 45″ sessions and expect clients to come to the appointments with matters they want to discuss. I am not here to keep your session going. I have also found video sessions to be the most powerful ways to meet but many choose phone conversations which work as well. I will not talk to you if you are driving no matter what. Walking around your worksite/neighborhood/house is also a No Go because the reception is usually compromised. I take your case seriously and I expect you to do the same.
