Steven Richardson

Hello! My name is Steve, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over six years of experience providing therapy services. I have worked in a wide range of therapeutic settings including addiction, couples, family, and LGBTQ+, partial and intensive outpatient care, and managing a non-profit that I founded to work with addicts and their families that don’t have insurance in the Fort Worth, Texas community. I work with clients affected by depression, anxiety, substance use/abuse, trauma (PTSD) and relationship challenges from individual, group, and family work. I received undergraduate degrees from Texas Tech University and Tarleton State University and my Master’s degree in clinical social work at the University of Southern California. My approach to therapy is meeting each client where they are. People are the experts on their lives and should be allowed to determine the direction and depth of therapy. I draw on multiple treatment modalities to help clients with identifying their existing strengths and developing treatment plans that accomplish their goals. I support clients through developing skills: mindfulness, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and emotion regulation with the goal of moving clients towards a life involving the capacity for experiencing joy and freedom. I am a husband and father. I am also a man who is in long-term recovery and has a son who is in recovery as well. So, helping someone find happiness and fulfillment in their lives is something I take very seriously. Along with my advanced training and wide range of clinical experiences, I bring 50+ years of life experience to each session.
