Hello. My name is Susan Davidson and I’m here to help you! Has life thrown you a curve ball? Have you found yourself in a slump that you can’t seem to get out of? Are you having panic attacks and you don’t know why? Do you have a broken heart? If you are struggling and needing help, there is hope and you have come to the right place. Whether it’s anxiety, depression, addiction, divorce or other relationship issues, grief, illness or another problem area of your life, I would love to walk beside you and work with you until you are where you’d like to be. I joined this counseling field because I found abundant joy and abiding peace and I wanted to help others find it too. I have a master’s degree in Marriage & Family Therapy. I am one of only three therapists in the State of Mississippi that is Certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy which is considered the gold standard for treatment for many of the issues people struggle with today. I have worked in a residential addiction treatment center for the past ten years. Most of the patients (and their families) I have worked with struggled with life problems and turned to a substance or addictive behavior to deal with the pain or pressure of what they’re dealing with. I have a passion for helping others. It’s not just a job for me. I am able to adapt my counseling style to fit my client’s needs. I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy because there is a ton of empirical evidence supporting this method and I know, firsthand, that it works. I also use Solution Focused Therapy and Psychoanalytic. I hope you will allow me to work with you to achieve your goals.
