Susan Lilly

Susan Lilly is a licensed professional counselor and board-approved counselor supervisor practicing in the State of Texas. With over 25 years of experience, Susan has worked extensively with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, relationship concerns, substance abuse, grief, and trauma. She has a strong background in employee assistance programs, having served as the director of an EAP for five years, providing training, consultation, brief counseling, and crisis intervention services. Susan also has expertise in substance abuse treatment, having served as the director of an adult outpatient program for an additional five years. In 1994, she collaborated with a colleague to secure grants and establish a six-bed medical detox program for adults, which eventually grew into a non-profit agency offering a wide range of substance abuse prevention, intervention, and treatment services. Susan served as the clinical director for 12 years and as the executive director for 10 years at this organization. In 2016, she decided to pursue a doctorate in counselor education and is expected to complete her doctorate in the Fall of 2020. Susan’s approach to counseling is client-centered and strengths-based, emphasizing the importance of a supportive therapeutic relationship to foster trust, respect, and a safe environment.
