About Talya Van den Berg's service

I am an LCSW with almost 20 years of experience. I’ve worked in California and Maryland, and in many settings including school, medical/hospitals and grief/end of life care. I also grew up overseas and have a keen awareness in culture, and cultural effects on mental health. I have helped clients explore issues with grief, adjustment to life changes, immigration issues, caregiving issues, parenting, adjustment to parenting, especially new mothers, as well as anxiety and distorted thinking around anxiety. My counseling style is warm, supportive and I believe in helping my clients find their strengths, and their solutions through a supportive alliance. I use modalities from humanistic therapy, client centered therapy as well as cognitive behavior therapy. My goal is to help you find and access your own strengths and solutions. Seeking out therapy can be scary, and I commend you for taking the first steps. I look forward to being an ally for you, and working with you.
