Tania Valente

Tania Valente is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with the State of New Mexico (LIC# CMF0200391). With over 10 years of counseling experience, she has worked in various settings such as inpatient psychiatric hospitalizations, non-profit organizations, community health centers, university counseling centers, integrated behavioral health care settings, and hospice. Tania takes an interpersonal, systemic, and supportive approach to therapy, believing that people can be healed through compassionate relationships with others. She is dedicated to working with individuals on their personal goals, offering empathy and open-mindedness. Tania has helped individuals address a wide range of life stressors including depression, anxiety, substance abuse, family stressors, parenting, trauma, and end of life care, among others. Her passion for counseling led her to pursue a doctorate degree in Counseling Psychology, with her primary areas of research focusing on the use of bilingualism in psychotherapy, outcome measures, and sex positivity.
