Teresa Smoak

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in South Carolina and Georgia with 10 years of experience in the field of mental health. I have worked across a span of settings with people who have a wide range of concerns. My background includes but is not limited to working with people with mood disorders, symptoms of psychosis, stress, anger, trauma, and anxiety. My therapeutic style is collaborative and person-centered. My belief is that if we work together, we can optimize your well-being both mentally and physically. I am passionate about the work that I do and believe in treating everyone with dignity and respect. I have found that having someone who will listen openly and without judgement helps many start their journey to work towards learning how to better manage life. I believe in meeting you where you are at and helping you to build from there. I want to walk with you on this journey and be a guide along the way. My goal is to help you feel empowered and capable of getting through whatever it is that is creating distress in your life. I strive to assure that each session you leave with feeling heard, a better understanding and sense of self and and a helpful action that can be taken to practice in between sessions.
