Timothy Hanson

Hi, I am here to help! I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Community Health Education, and a Master’s Degree in Social Work. I am a devoted father, empathic partner, and peaceable military veteran of foreign wars. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Wisconsin who has been clinically licensed for 9 years, with 20 years of generalist experience supporting people, aged 5 to adult. This includes individuals, couples, and families across a wide variety of situations and settings. Examples of types of settings I have worked include: day treatment, hospital emergency room, public school, and private outpatient mental health. My personal and professional journey supports me to work with people across the lifespan that are facing diverse life situations and challenges. My personal and professional life experiences have ignited a passion to empower people. I believe the essential ingredient to a successful working relationship, collaborating with a counselor, is about finding a good fit. I work to educate and challenge individuals toward direct action as they make present moment choices, and changes that fit their lives. My approach to counseling is strength based, motivational, and a present minded life assessment. I bring a hopeful, compassionate approach, that will incorporate your spiritual journey if that is something important to you. Overall, I favor a holistically reflective, choice and consequence, awareness style that seeks to achieve balance. This is while supporting you to minimize emotional and behavioral disturbances.
