Tunya Harris

Hi, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York with over 30 years of experience. I have worked primarily in the hospital setting, as a social worker, case manager and therapist with various populations (adults, children, families and MICA patients). My journey began with inpatient medical and has crossed paths with substance abuse treatment and mental health. Furthermore, I have worked with patients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, interpersonal relations, and adjustment to illness. I also worked with many people who have experienced physical and emotional trauma and or abuse. Additionally, I have co-facilitated therapeutic groups for pediatric patient’s living with cancer and blood disorders (Sickle Cell). As such, I have experience working with loss and grief. My approach to counseling incorporates Client-Centered; Solution Focus; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Motivational Interviewing. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity and compassion. Offering a safe and non judgmental environment allows me to be an attentive listener and comforter.
