With over 25 years of experience in a variety of counseling settings, I am ready to work with you. I have been a school counselor, a private practice counselor, and taught counseling students in a university setting. I have written six books, two of which are specific to solution-focused interventions. Good for you for seeking support from a counselor! Honoring you, the individual, is the cornerstone of our relationship and our efforts. I’m a believer in counseling and feel anyone and everyone would benefit from having a trained, professional, supportive counselor in their life. Moving toward being your best self and living the life you desire is a wonderful undertaking. My approach is client centered and you will guide the goals we develop and the plan we make together. Based on listening for feeling and understanding, showing empathy and compassion, thinking broadly and respecting you; our counseling interactions will enhance you and your life. I enjoy exercising, eating healthy, reading, mindfulness, journaling, and interacting with my clients. I have a husband, three grown daughters, two dogs, three horses, and a fun life. I lead Food for Thought , a weekend feeding program run through the service of at-risk teens, a non-profit I started in my community.
